        Hello! My name is Steve and I am looking for information on my ’69 B5 Blue 383 Road Runner that I used to own in the ’70’s. The car was raced at Dover and had win stickers on left rear window from ’69 to ’75. I don’t know the name that was on the side of the car (doors were repainted over name when I bought the car in June ’78). The car originally sat up in the front and had fender wall headers. I believe the car had aluminum slots. Car was a 383 4-speed with 391 gears. The car was based out of Stamford, Any info would be great. Thanks.

                I think a Rich Marchi ran one,,,,
                In 1969,,,,,,,F/Stock against all those 69′ Z-28 Camaro’s
                In 1970 and 1971,,,,,,,,,G/Stock, same competition, including 340 Dusters.
                In 1972 and up,,,,,,Super Stock,,,,SS/J.

                    Just to clear the air, I bought this car in ’78 knowing it was a former Dover car but never new more than that. I sold the car to a kid that beat the car to a pulp. The last time I saw the car it was sitting in Greenwich and that was in ’80, never to see it again. I would love to know the saying on the doors or some old pics of the car in its glory, you see, this car kinda started my love of mopars. I currently own a ’68 runner and regret ever selling that blue ’69. Hope this makes sense to you guys~Thanks Steve.

                        Steve,

                        1969 in F/S,,,,,,,,,,,13.70’s or so would keep you in competition,,,
                        Unless the ‘Byrne Brothers’ or ‘Mr. Z-28’ or ‘Mr. F Stock’, with their 69′ Z-28 Camaro’s,
                        would show up,,,,,,,,all capable of running mid 12.00’s.

                        Otherwise it was 69′ Z-28 Camaros’, 68’/69′ 340 Barracuda’s and Darts, or the 68’/69′ W-31 Oldsmobile Cutlass’.
                        On the Ford side, 69′ Mustang GT 390’s, 69′ 390 Cougars, 69′ Cobra 428 Cobra-Jets, and 69′ Cyclone GT’s with the
                        428 Cobra-Jet.

                        The 383 Road Runners were more successful in F/SA (automatics).
                        4.56 gears, Hooker Headers, 7″ slicks,,,,,,to go along with a tricked up Carter AVS carb, performance curve on the
                        distributor, and a B & M shift kit,,,,,,,should have given you 13.70’s @ 102 MPH.
                        All with a ‘bone stock engine’…
