        Walko, Joseph F.
        Joseph F. Walko, 74, of Danbury, beloved husband of Donnalee (Lewis), died on September 7th in Danbury Hospital. He was born on June 14, 1940, in the family home where he resided until his passing. He was the son of the late Joseph and Helen (Chladny) Walko.
        Joe was a maintenance worker for Whisconier Middle School, Brookfield for over twenty years. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Joe was a volunteer firefighter with Phoenix Hose Co. #8, a member of the NHRA and enjoyed being active at the Danbury Racearena. He enjoyed fast cars and NASCAR racing. He built specialized engines and carburetors for drag cars, racecars and speedboats. He raced Lil thunder 61 at the Dover Dragstrip.
        Along with his cherished wife, Donnalee, of 50 years, he will be sadly missed by his three daughters Kristine Stewart and her husband Craig of New Milford, Karin Blankschen and her husband Kenneth of Danbury, Joey Walko-Robinson and her husband Patrick of Waterbury; five grandchildren Kendall and Kelsey Stewart, Jesse and Cole Blankschen, and Kathleen Robinson. Joe is predeceased by his sister, Helen Walko.

                    Joe Walko was the go fast guy in the Danbury Ct area..Tricks that are used today on Holley Carbs were first done by Joe back in the 60’s..Those in the know had a Walko Carb on their motor..Joe was a Ford guy but loved all race motors..Whenever the late night lights were on in his garage, you knew the professor was up to his tricks..RIP !!!
