Most memorable was watching a jet dragster, Art Arfons’ IIRC, at Dover, hearing the announcer say cover your ears and feeling the stands shake. I had a new ’67 2 bbl 327 Camaro with a 4 speed that soon got a set of Cyclone headers and a 4 bbl installed by Gene Germani. He had a speed shop at Vin and Larry’s Amoco station on 1st Street in Mt. Vernon and raced a VW gasser at Dover around 1970. Finding this site brings back good memories.
