Got this from VALIDATION(Gleans great nephew-sponsored Black Arrow)Complete archives of New York State Newspapers

Put in the drop down Menu “Exact Phrase”….I put in “DOVER DRAG STRIP” And got an amazing 143 Newspaper Articles..BRIAN !-Crank up the printer!!!.many from Harlem Valley Times, But a bunch from even Yonkers papers.All the town board meetings about the Towns voting on the ‘New” planned Drag Strip…ALL the arrests !.( SEE the Cool Thing I Found below-SORRY LEE …Had to do it)..Accidents-special Match races & events…going back to ’61…Even has stuff I DIDN’T Know —-Whatever was reported.. All years…race reports …Stuff on Black Arrow(OH-Put That in the Search box-tons of stuff)Try car names -Drivers …It’s all there ..IT TAKES a While to load ,once you click on something…comes up as a PDF file, that you can ‘zoom-in” on by changing the “percentage’ of view..(AND print or save on computer). .then scrool around and find stuff. VERY Important documentation ! Haven’t really gotten too deep …but managed this by scanning a print I made at 500 DPI -cropping and edditing to get a quick idea how to do it.Probably a better way…This is From The Harlem Valley Times -Thurs,July 19,1969…(They were BOTH 22 ! )

Quick print & scan at 600 DPI. Should have printed darkler …MASO and the other computer wizzes will help us out. Found this by putting in “BLACK ARROW” Harlem Valley Times -April 29-1965

Pretty kool stufff in there,just takes time!
Found this Dennis Oliva of Valhalla,N.Y. was struck by pieces of a 1939 Chevy taken away in ambulance. Who could this Mr. North be??? On Sunday August 14th 1966 at 5 pm “Nelson” North 28 of Norwalk ,Ct. crashed his class B dragster 260 yards from the starting line when swerving from lane 1 into lane 2.OH, this one is good, On April 11th William Corey of Thornwood <N.Y. was arrested after locking someone in a truck of a car at the track!!
Check it out ,lots of DDS info,some good some bad some ugly!!!

…Don ❗ there you go makin’ the ho-ho again ❗ 😆 … dont know if Lee OR Ronnie was drinkin’ Balintine ❓ 😕 🙄 ….. but maybe at the third race we can get a picture of them together 😯 😮 ……Ronnie ❓ …..Lee ❓ ………………… ya know …together again 🙄 …1969 ………2011 ….. ❓ …there would be NO Dover without guys like Ronnie and Lee 😀 …..I hope Ronnie fixed his car so he can make the third race ❗ …and at BIG ALs Lee said he would probably run at the third race at the Valley ❗ ….I have only met these guys and they REALLY are both very nice MEN ❗ …..Ive seen Lee around for years and only met Ronnie at the last two Dover Races at Island and talk to Ronnie at the motel saturday nite when we were all hanging out but he always has a smile 😀 ……do I smell a match race 😀

FRONT PAGE…Harlem Valley Times -July 20 -1961.Same photo by Dick Donofiro,they used on Opening Day Program Cover.There’s Don Gallant’s Gold Rush roaster in Staging Lanes (Still has it).Rail is of course “modifiers “Alley-OPP” (being restored by Bob Swanson in Ridgefield.)

That “Deputy Scoralick” that assisted in Tony Neris arrest went on to become Dutchess Cty Sheriff. He’s retired about 10 years now.

…sometimes you have to hunt all over the page…found a little “business News” brief,about Dobbs Ferry Ford Buying a thunderbolt and setting track record at Dover ….ran in the 12’s.

I found a 1/4 page ad for carmel Ford with a Mach 1 in it. How do you save the section of the paper like the other posts?

Anthoney…I’ve so far just hit print and it works fine..Then I’ve scanned and saved as a jpeg.Takes a bit of editting and scanning at a high Dpi. Will find a way to open in a PDF format …maybe work better.
