        Hey folks,
Couldn’t help but notice at the tracks and on online forums lately there is alot of talk about the high cost of drag racing, especially for the little guy. The ‘new wave’ these days is all the heads up classes such as 10.5,Outlaw 10.5, Drag radial and so on. As technology evolves so does cost. Many of the racers that have been into this for 5 years or so are getting priced out. This has created a big surge in interest in index classes. In fact, the southeast div. of NHRA has included 10.0,11.0 and 12.0 at all their div. races. Many other orgs. have index (i.e ET)classes as low as 8.0!! This concept could actaully save drag racing AGAIN!! I say again because back in the early ’70’s Dover had a “new thing” called brackets. I remember 11.50,12.00 and 12.50. Those were for the guys who couldn’t compete in class racing in stock and super stock.
So…what’s OLD is NEW again!! Just my.02 Enjoy the rest of your Sunday,ODF’s.

Smitties on the beam…..Dover guys couldn’t continue battling high priced all out “junior Stockers” …with big money motors to run on or under the record…..remember the big sponsors feeding them too…..car counts went down, so dail -your-own brackets were introduced.Lot of 10.5 action down here on all the 1/8 mile tracks.
