What’s your Favorite Drag Cars seen in Movies …Not The Movie …Just The CAR. Some only seen briefly and not a featured Prop…But Some Cool stuff was captured on film….For the real Eagle eye Drag Freak to pick-up on…Others were quite obvious like Milners Coupe. So Heres some appitizers to get ya going:

“Rebel Without a Cause”
“American Graffiti”
“The Fast and the Furious”
“Hot Rod”
“Heart Like a Wheel”
“Fast Company”
“Death Racer”
“Hot Rod Girl”
“Two-Lane Blacktop”

Tommy Ivo and his T-Bucket were featured in the Hollywood production “Dragstrip Girl”. Ironically, Ivo played the heavy in the movie, and the script called for him to steal his own car.

Too many good cars in this movie…Bikini Beach …ya gotta sit thru Annette And Frankie Avalon, and a dumb plot…But when they get to the “Bikini Beach Drag Strip( Really Pomona) you’ll see some 1964 Front engine legends…Stellings & Hampshire,TheSnake ..Ivo’s “red Car” he had at Dover ….Here’s a behind the scenes shot…thats Don Rickles in the Red Jump suit…He owns a bar “Big Drag”.

Billy Mas. will like this first Clip…Just like your in the car….SEE PART 3 ,it has some Great authentic footage …and this was A rare Cult movie from 1971…Lot of referances to that era…start of Bracket racing ….the Hair …the Clothes…the overall “attitude” as we exited the sixties and started the seventies. :

Starting To get “Into” the Drag Racer Movie…Seems two of the actresses came from Connecticut ! One from Norwich and the other, Deborah Walley from Bridgeport. Now get this… She was fairly famous (not from this movie) …remember, it was rarley seen…Check out Her Credits…She was “GIDGET” ! she passed away in 2001 as did another girl in the movie:

Pat….”Robert” is seen driving a ”57 McCullough (Dealer installed option )superchargerd 312 Y-block F code ,rated at 300 hp. Had to produce 250 to be Nascar Legal. T-birds came from the factory with them. Nascar then Banned any supercharger,,,Sure got the ‘revenuers’ on the run. Hey …I’m a Ford guy! had a bunch of 312’s. Heres Bob checking the oil …His Mechanic is under the car checking the “dump” tube…. “It Works,it’ll empty 250 gallons in two minutes”

Dino my favorite is the Olds coupe. On a side not Mickie Ferro is going to round 3, as is Hillary Will, Alexis DeJoria ahd Erika Enders. My day would be complete if they all won. Here’s hoping.
