Hi, Dino;
My name is Floyd Kyes, AKA “Dusty” Kyes, & back in ’69, ’70, & ’71, I campaigned a 1968 hemi Road Runner in SS/C known (& Feared!) as “Blood Sweat & Torque”. Back then, I was TOTALLY independent, & ran on my own money, which I didn’t EVER have enough of. I ran mostly @ ESTA in Cicero, NY, and also @ an “Outlaw” track called King’s Dragway in Savannah, NY. I only ran @ Dover once, & if my memory serves me correctly, I won class, then red-lighted in the early elimination rounds. I dunno for sure, hell, it was 40+ years ago! I blew the motor @ Indy in ’71, & found myself too broke to keep going, so I sold off everything I had, never to race again after that. Anyhoo, I’m writing to you ’cause I’m now returning to my 2nd childhood, & have, after all these years, managed to piece together another hemi powered Plymouth super stocker, a ’65 Belvedere like Ken Montgomery’s “555”. I went online looking for any reference to either Dusty Kyes or Blood Sweat & Torque, & the ONLY thing I found was a post from one of your members, aardvark413, mentioning me by name & the name & make of my
’68 Road Runner, “Blood Sweat & Torque”. So, to “cut to the chase” I guess I’m just hoping to find SOMEONE who might possibly have any pictures of old “Blood Sweat & Torque” from “back in the day” so I can get an accurate idea of the style of lettering it had & put that style on my “new” “Blood Sweat & Torque” # 2!! I’d also like to find out howta contact aardvark413 so I can thank him for being kind enuff ta remember me!
Thanks in advance for your consideration; Dusty Kyes AKA bloodsweatandtorque
