74 and still going strong…Dick just called from up Syracuse way …getting some research photos for a new ‘possable Nostalgia Fueler Build. A wealth of info on early Fuel Dragster history. Never ran Dover but worked with and raced a bunch that did, like Boughton, Gommi , Abbott. Knows where just about every old car that still exists -is .Might be in the process of ‘possibly’ retreiving the original Gaines & Marino “CosaNostra” fueler that ran Beebe & Mulligan at Dover.Been stashed for years in Canada. He is also about 10 miles from the original jimmy Messenger “Brewmaster” ….having found it and run it from 97-99….before selling it after it sat in his garage for years to it’s present owner right down the road. Interestingly the Brewmaster was ‘buried’ in a storage shed behind Ossining Speed Shop for years. Dick was a staple at Lebanon, running there all through the sixties from opening day on.Old ‘buddie’ of Howard Commander.Consistant Track record holder at Lebanon and is currently building engines and fuel systems for various Nostalgia F.E.D. guys. He owns the former Western Hoist Special front engine car originally owned by John Halstead and was driven by Bob Maurez aka Floyd Lipponcott jr. of “Freight Train ” fame. We’re keeping in touch. He wants to run our Next Nostalgia Drags and could be gathereing up a few more!….Nitro is the only way he goes.
