        Dover Has it’s own Valentine!…The Racing VALENTINE FAMILY….So Heres a trip down memory lane of just “some’ Of Dover’s Valentines. From Tom’s “Ba Ba Black Sheep” Pontiac to son Lee’s whole family racing now…Lee ,fill us in on the young-ins! did the brother race too?

                    “I first raced at Dover in 65 with my new 65 B/S GTO..Could not beat Tom..Swear he had a 421 in Ba-Ba..I had a 421 super duty ready to go in mine, but sold it and went to A/SP with my 66 Vette..I don’t remember Ba-Ba ever getting beat..One of many Great Dover Legends !!!”

                        Dino as you know I still race , and the Valentine name is carried on by my son Bryan. He was 2002 NHRA division 1 stock eliminator champion and # 2 finisher in World points. Bryan can be found at NHRA races with Ron And Lincoln Morehead. My Granddaughter Kayla has shown interest in driving and will make some runs when she is on break from college this summer. My brother Tommy raced some at Dover untill it got too costly for him. As a reply to Tommy Day, my Dad never cheated and once protested ME, when I ran an Isky cam in my GTO. He wouldn’t buy it when I said ,why not?, everybody else is doing it. Probably the best thing I learned from my Dad was how to race and win legally,it has served me well over the years. I have won and been an NHRA record holder and been torn down on numerous times and have passed with flying colors. It’s been a great run and I’ve had 50 years of racing fun. See you all soon,Lee.

                            Always Remember Tom telling any one that questioned his legality,”I’ll Lay all out ,Right Here, Right Now”. He once told me his ‘mission’ & passion that drove him , was to run on the record with stock Chevy parts. The Guy DID his homework! Who else would research All the options on a wagon and find buried in the list ,and probably a lot of phone calls ,you could get it with a 4-speed and 427.

                                        Don…will you be my Valentine? 😆 But seriously folks…those results lists will be posted in their entirty ..look at the small sample and see all the familiar names…but watch something else..the class changes in just two months as guys ‘moved’ around with differant combinations.Iorizzo from C/S to runnig in M/P and winning the eliminator…and whats with Krosky? Up a class and runs slower…they tell some tales!
