NETO Race 11 was held yesterday, July 28 at Englishtown raceway. Twenty eight racers were in attendance at the Old Time drags and Funny Car reunion. The event was sponsored by New England Performance and Muscle from Norwalk Connecticut. Unfortunately Mother Nature had the last word causing us to have only one qualifying run and end the day after round 2 of eliminations. This one goes down in the books as “incomplete” but here were some real highlights. 2011 Comp Eliminator champ Joe Morrison was back with his beautiful Fiat altered. Charles Benson made his first appearance in several years with his Blown alcohol front engine dragster, running 7.02 twice. Lou Laferrara Jr in his 7 second altered beat them each in two close ground pounding runs! It was a great day while it lasted. Thanks to all the racers and friends who participated.
