        I am sorry to report that Joe Black, the driver of the Aurora 7 Willys and the Green Hornet funny car has passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer.

            RIP Joe. The “Aurora 7” was one of the first Willys coupes I had seen in my beginning journey into drag racing. It was the summer of 62 or 63 at Westhampton drag strip and at the time it had a 421 Pontiac motor, before he went to the Chrysler.

                    Sad to hear the passing of Joe.Like Pat D. I remember Joe at Island Dragway in the early ’60’,s with the green A/G Willys coupe,then later at ‘Dover’. May he R.I.P.
