Sad news, Jimmy Hailey an original member of the Watertown Customs passed away Wed. November 18th!
        Jimmy was a sweetheart!
When I had my operation this past July Jimmy was the first one to ring my doorbell to see how I was doing and if I needed anything!
A couple weeks ago he hand made a birthday card for George “The Little Giant” Brazees 80th birthday and went around town getting a bunch of people to sign the card!
Jimmy raced a Buick powered 37 Chevy coupe at Dover Drag Strip and other tracks in the northeast!
He no longer had the car but never parted with the Buick 6 duce setup and drivetrain ,always thinking he would ‘need it someday’!!!
Last year I brought Jimmy and George Brazee to the DDS Reunion at BIG AL’s ! Jimmy ,Roger and I brought the “Bad News” C/A to the Ct Dragway Reunion last year!
On the DDS site there are some beautiful color pics that Jimmy and his father took in the shutdown area!! Jimmy and our Brian connected and Brian came away with many great pics!
Jimmy never asked but always gave!!!
Rest in peace my friend till we meet again!

Yes Bobby, you are so right about Jimmy. I had met him many, many years ago. He would
stop into Chapin’s Welding Shop in Thomaston, CT where we all hung out. Probably because
Paul Chapin was a big Buick fan, making his own intake manifolds with multiple carbs. etc.
I lost track of Jimmy for like 30 years and had recently got reunited with him maybe a year
or so ago. He remembered all the times at the welding shop and our Anglias. He always had a
smile on his face and that’s the way I want to remember him :!:… “Rest in Peace my friend” ❗

            Frank… 😎

I didn’t know the man but again another situation where our paths may have crossed. Our condolences to the family.
