NETO race5 was held at Cecil County Dragway on June 11, 2016. This was the annual NETO Spring Fling.
Thirty racers competed in race 5, which was sponsored by Fidelity Alarm of Philadelphia PA.. Jerry and Therese Hillier presented the trophies. Our race was part of the eighth annual Mid Atlantic Nostalgia Drags, one of the biggest nostalgia events on the east coast.
Comp Eliminator was won by Bob Bush (Bendoni) in his 1963 sbc powered Nova, running a 9.34 on a 9.40 index. Here is Bob with Tony Supino’s niece Brianna. (Click on photos for a larger image)
Runner up in his big block chevy powered S & W altered was Lou Laferrara jr. Lou lit the red bulb before running a 7.537 0n a 7.60 index. Here is Lou jr., with Andrew, John, Guy, Staci, Nicole and Lou sr.
Nostalgia eliminator was won by Jody Kenly in his 500 C.I. 1972 Dodge Challenger running a 10..09 on a 10.10 dial. Here is Jody with his winning trophy. (click on photo for a larger image)
Runner up was Joe Puma in his beautiful 455 C.I. 1961 Pontiac Catalina. Joe lit the red bulb, before running a 10.35 on a 10 .26 dial. Here is Joe with his trophy.
