dino.dinoSo …we stated this thing with 197 cars entered at first race at Island…went to two days ,then up to Lebanon…. Heres a tally off whats transpired:
by 2014 we were up for both days combined to 355 cars entered.( 210 -sun.)
in 2015 it went up for both days combined to 475 cars entered.( 260-sun.)
By 2016 we were up to both days combined to 604 ! (331-sun)
……………Now with one glithch of a n oil down on sunday,,with the added cars and juggling things we ran off the last run at 8. About 2 hours later than normal. I remember always ‘pulling’ out at around 6.
We certinaly don’t want to trim any of our proven eliminator formats. So to kick things off faster,Sun am…Wayne has proposed opening tech one hour earlier to get guys settled and IN the lanes by 9:30 am Kick off. If you’re showing up at 10 or 11…you just are too late to get two runs in.We will cut off Time runs by 12:30 -1 AT THE LATEST…And get right into Starting the ‘show”. Wayne always tries to give eveyone two time shots on Sunday…with that oil down , we didn’t start til 2 last year…way too late. So be advised …if you’re late through tech…fiddly fart around unloading and getting set up…Don’t cry if you don’t get that second time shot.The Fans in stands expect a seemless event…and I know you guys don’t want to still be running at 6 or 7. Our last Funny Car run was after 5…not good for the fans. AND then the “Dew’ starts coming in on track…and the track starts getting weird. Gates open at SEVEN thirty.
Now “This” will open a can of worms . . . . . Any ideas you have to speed things up…Post a reply…we’ll consider it ,if it’s not to goofy.
tomatoheadOK the guys that get teched in saturday should “automaticly” be teched in for sunday, I would think it would same some time , and pay for boths days racing at the same time , using the same tech card you passed in saturday , could be “stamped” “TWO DAYS” , your car number stays the same , only thing is that you cant switch classes but I think you know which class your running both days , so everything is done and your ready to run, OK ?

If you’re gonna race both days, Sat and Sunday pay for a 2 day event pass,go through tech 1 time on Sat. , If you leave the grounds ta go home or motel,out ta eat etc. just show your 2 day event pass ta get in on Sunday.if you stay on the grounds ,motor home ,camping, sleeping in your car etc. ya dont have ta do anything!

Hmmmm how bout if you race on Friday too?????Im guessin that would be a whole different race day etc.! Nothing ta do with the 2 day DDS Race !!!!

dinoI’ll run that Two Day thing by Wayne…In the past He’s said “It just doesn’t work” …I’ll see if he still has that opinion.
dinoJust Talked To Wayne…Two Day ‘Passes” don’t Work due to fact that Each Day you need a differant color wristband…not one all purpose.He’s tried in the past and its a real pain if Sat. folks decide to leave and want a refund ( blow the motor-Aunt Tilly got sick-whatever). If you’re a racer …Get Teched Once on Sat. -Don’t have to get Teched again on sunday..But have to GO TO TECH, pay for that day to get That Days color wristband….CREW TOO.
On Some other Items.
The Back Grass pit area(Past the Gas station) is Now Enlarged by 6 acres ! and it’s paved!..Wayne says it should hold about 60 Racers/trailers .Also ….theres always been about 30 non-racer campers (Motorhomes) and such back there..parked for the season.They are getting a whole new area they’ll have to pay a fee to park for the year. That gives us plenty of new Parking…
TO Cut down Rounds on sunday and save almost an Hour…He will tell NETO ,East Coast Gassers and Nendra , they’ll get only one time shot on sunday. They do this already on thier two day dates….so no problem there.
…………………So Fine tuning -all to improve.

dinoNEW At the Valley….Real Red Introduced for the 2017 Season…Not Sure If this will be activated at our Event…I’ll confirm.
For the 2017 season, Lebanon Valley Dragway will be honoring the NHRA’s decision to use TruSTART at the Division 1 Bracket Finals by running Real Red at all points races. Real Red changes how a winner is declared in a race where both lanes red light. When enabled, the lane with the worst red light, instead of the first red light, will lose the race. This feature will not apply to LB3 red lights. The system will still instantly red light the first person who leaves before the third amber.
With Real Red, slower vehicles that do not leave before the third amber will receive a green light on launch. If the slower vehicle was actually red, the tree will switch from green to red once the faster vehicle launches or when the tree in the faster vehicle’s lane reaches green. When switching to red, the tree will also light the amber bulb that the vehicle left on. If the faster vehicle is more red than the slower vehicle, the slower vehicle’s lane will remain green and the slower vehicle will be declared the winner.
In the case of a tie Red Light to 5 decimal places, both lanes will show green and the race will be determined by normal breakout rules.

THE CORRECT info at the Track’s WEBSITE Sept schedule will be Changed to Say THIS:
