Looking to see if anyone knows what happened to the ’55 Chevy E/G “Odd Job” I raced at Dover for years. I raced it from the first year the track was opened until we changed to the ’37 Ford B/A in 1964. I sold the car from Shelton CT in 1965. That is when I moved to SC and didn’t hear anything or see the car again. I have attached a black and white picture I received from Charlie Irving and a color picture as it was when sold.
Hasn’t anyone seem or head of this car since 1966?
There’s a least 20 Win stickers I count in that back window! …that right there’s ,worth something …Dover CSI …find the Gasser.
Dino….The car was at Dover from the first year to 1965. Most of the Sundays were at Dover and in the beginning there were no win stickers. Not sure how many wins but my brother-in-law lined his finished off basement with a bunch of Dover trophies mostly from this car.
Did it always look like that …or did it get painted and lettered…as”Odd-Job ? c’mon guys Dig in those albums .
That is the Odd Job car before the paint and lettering. The body work was still in progress in early 1964.
Picture found in Tink Shaefer’s collection.
The ’55 went from the original gray to the white color before being painted the final orange while I had it.
Tink’s picture is the in-between white color and I didn’t think there were any pictures while it was white.
You just never know what you will find on this site as it grows.
We would see GOLD if it could be found for the 1st.ANNUAL DOVER DRAG STRIP NOSTALGIA DRAGS.
Was this ever plain orange ? if so found a couple of shots in those slides from Kevin Dunn .
Dino…Yes it was plain orange for a short time. After the orange paint job it took several weeks to get lettered.
unbelievable the stuff that you are making come to the surface and the stuff people have saved over all these years.
Ok …I think we have a match…63-64?
