hey everyone…just joined today…i live in newtown, ct & own a 1966 chevelle ss396 that i am sure spent some time on the drag strip back in the day…it is a true ss396 with a 1972 402 big block & a m20 4-speed…it still has a set of “flat-tow” style mounts under the front bumper…some old school ladder bar brackets (the seller gave me the ladder bars too)…& when i took out the “way-too-hairy for the street” 4.88 gears i found a “modified” posi unit made to work like a locker set-up…it is registered & i drive the chevelle as much as possible…if anyone recognizes the car please let me know…i would love to find out some history of the car…hope to see some of you soon either on the street or at a local cruise night…
