Isn’t that a Ford motor? any help ?
John Belushi?
Lou Costello?………….HEY ABBOTT!
I think your right Dino.it looks like a ‘Ford’ FE engine;in ’63’ they had a 406 cu.in. tri power,I believe around 410 h.p.? In ’64’ the 427 was introduced.Another guess,maybe an ole ‘352’ or ‘390’ he used ?
not Prout ? Maybe a Yonkers Guy ????
Wheres Pat Henneberry? He had a guy named “Red” working for him that ran a Ford powered altered. But I doubt Pat was in business in 63. I’ll prolly see Red this Sat at a Christmas Party. I’ll ask him then.
…. doesnt really matter what cu in cusae they had stroker kits back then too , but that is a 427 air cleaner , i think 🙄 the three twos air cleaner lines run from front to rear on the top those stop up front where the 427 Bird emblem goes …… right ❓ … “DRAKE” ❓ “BOSSMAN” ❓ ………… but still doesnt tell us” WHO ” he is ……….. ❓ ❓ ❓
😀 😀 😀 Hey…I be “thinkin” they were two brothers from the Newburgh NY area (might be able…to come up with their names)…the motor was a 427…dual 4v piece (stock..out of “wrecked” street car)… we bought one of the very first “slick-shifted” borg warner t-10’s (thats what was OEM equipment in 1963-early ’64 fords) from ’em…ooh baby…that thing shifted…well like…”butter”…on the second run ever….that “rascal” exploded like a hand grenade…case/gears/shafts…’ol Ronnie @ the Dover time shack…said they dove for the ground…stuff/shrapnal flyin’ every where! 😆 😆 😆 the good news is…nobody got hurt…’cept my feelings, wallet, and oh yeah…my knee…the Hurst T-shift handle/knob…smacked me in the knee…split …”me” kneecap…let me tell ya’ “hoss”…it “smarted” a bit… 😆 😆 😆 …that old Falcon did just about everything (attrition-wise) ‘cept go on it’s “lid”…looking at it now…”yikes”…’bout needed a ladder to get in it…so I guess we were “lucky”…always been told…I’m a “lucky” guy 😆 😆…but that was the prevailing “thinking” back then (weight transfer???!!!***)…the ford toploader was much stronger…and when Doug Nash made some better gear ratios available for it…it was for the times…in a word…good! Drake…hey Jack…the guy “Red” you speak of worked for the late Lou Vignogna/Fishkill Plains Garage for some years…had a altered with a Fe series motor…regularly bought a lot of stuff from me…a good guy…although you can’t tell by photo…(can’t “see” the teeth)…it ain’t Red… remember (?) his “choppers” were like a lot of my neighbors here in Mooresville,North Carolina…they be missin’…’bout half of ’em ‘eh 😆 😆 😆
I’ve met Red, he hangs out with Gary from A&G Auto on Rt 82 Hopewell. They work on golf carts together. I was supposed to go to their Christmas Party but got a much better offer from a female friend 😮 🙄
Get “RED” on the forum…maybe he Is or knows WHO this guy is.
This guy appears again in the Patsy Judson collection, ODF files. 9th group of pics. Not driving the same car. Blue roadster, looks like a chevy powered altered. Different colored helmet, same type face shield……I got way too much time on my hands.
