            Hi Pat,nice pics!!!
            The VW is Paul Chapin, Thomaston,Ct. Buick powered,then sold it to the late Al Millard,he put a Chevy 6 cyl. in there and painted the car orange!! Al Millard
            Ran E/A always took a class trophy home cause there was never any E/A to race!!!

                The “GROWLER”,
                Al Oakes Anglia.It was racing him with my ’38 Chevy coupe in the final round,when I blew my clutch,and took a trip in to the swamp at the end of the track.
                That created a major problem for the track when a piece of my flywheel hit a spectator.We all went to court,and thankfully the track and myself won the “frivolous” lawsuit !!!!!!!!!! 😀

                    I think Malcom Durham was match racing Sox and Martin’s Comet that day; and I think it broke.
