That must be Dean “Skeets” Russel’s Lane Motor’s ’61 Plymouth in front of the Chevy. This must be an early shot because I don’t see those long header pipes underneath or those strong traction bars either.

Is this the black ’62 Chevy that Bobby is looking for? Note on the back of the picture said “Last Sun 1965” If it is the car I have a couple more pictures.

Yes Bobby had the “Chevamoco”…Chevy powered Falcon at one time lettered with Gatto Chev…For the in depth Dealer Hot -line Info …Stand By for Drake …But this is about Billy Not Bobby .

Hold on to your chair !…Just got off phone with the original , legendary Billy Lagana ! Are YOU ready for some HISTORY ….I took notes ! ….Here goes :
He started out with a ’61 Pontiac Ventura sponsored by Jernigan Pontiac….Blew 7 motors with it, ’cause the oil pumps were bad, Parked it for a while …Then Pontiac found the problem running Nascar…Got the good replacement…and blew off 41 cars at Dover to win the Elim.
…. Next up …the Black ’62 409 (ran WITH front Bumper ON )…IT WAS THE SECOND ONE Chevy Ever Buit ! he was there when it came off the assembly line. Lost track of it and looking for photos (Smokey ?)
….Next “Locomotion”….’63 ‘the Alum red car’ Z-11, now in the Floyd Garrett museum in Tenn.
….In ’64-’65-’66 …ran Comets for Ford.(drake …fill us in ) Need photos guys !
….In ’68 switched to a Camaro sponsored by Oak Hill Chev. for only about 6 months.
………Decided to quit drag racing and got into offshore boats for awhile.
………Now operating an Engineering Company in Florida…..Expect him to check in here soon !
