Bob McArthur here; I first went to Dover in 63 as a spectator , my father lugged a car full of us from Yonkers and we would spend the day “LOVING IT” …those were the days when the outhouse had the board with the holes in it and the trough to pee in . It was a tough decision to go to the ‘JOHN’.
But I had to get a race car , I had seen BEWITCHED 55 chevy and that was it. I found a shell of a 55 and began the transformation into my racecar. The job took 4-5 years but I made it back to Dover. My 55 was called GENERATION GAP I ran out of Altonwood Auto Body with Nicky Minichetti. The car wasn’t the national record holder but we won some races met great people ,found a career and would do it all over in a minute. Anyone with pictures of the car let me know ,as when your racing you never got pictures of your car . Hello to everyone and we’re all back home .
