I worked in PV from 1980 to 2003 and the only Butch I know is Butch Gardner the Highway superintendant. He’s a car guy but I’ve never heard him mention a Nova. Charlie Hulzizer (gaspumpchas on here, see his Pocano Drag Lodge post) lives in PV, might have a lead for you.

A friend of mine Tom said he worked with a guy in the late 70’s at the high way department with the last name chrismas he thought. Has to be the same guy but my friend Tom might have been mistaken on the last name? Tom did say some of the guys where car guys? Maybe I need to give Butch gardner a call at the highway department. Thanks for the lead.

I thought I had the key to my missing puzzle. John Gunn told me that a guy by the name of Butch Christmas bought a new 68 L78 Nova from Mid-Hudson Chevrolet and lived in Pleasant Valley NY. I know all the previous owners back to 1977-78 time frame and the last owner bought my car in Pleasant Valley NY. So through a lead that Butch was a nick name the guy I think John was refering to was Harold Christmas from Pleasant Valley NY. Well Harold lives in Brandenton FL. I spoke with him tonight and he didn’t buy a new 68 L78 nova from Mid Hudson Chevrolet. He was friends with John and new of him but said John was mistaken. He did say his brother Carl Christmas had a camaro and a 69 corvett and maybe he had the brothers mixed up? But Carl has passed so I can’t contact him. He is almost positive Carl didn’t own a 68 L78 Nova. So needless to say I am still looking for information on my car. I try and stay positive some day I might find that needle in the hay stack! LOL
I am going to try and give John Gunn a call back to toggle his memory again.

Called back John Gunn today to try and get some more information. John said that the car was at a garage on RT-44 across from the old junk yard. He thought the garages name was Charlie something??? The reason he thought the car was Butches car was because I guess Butch was living behind it? I am going to call back Butch to verify this. So the lead goes on! So I need some help from all you Pleasant Valley area members what was the name of the old garage?
