A ‘tour’ down ‘memory lane’,back in 1962 , ‘The Greek’ I believe was the 1st to hit the 200mph mark in the 1/4. (Garlits did it at Island Dragway in ’64’ ). It was at Alton Dragway, where he cracked the 200mph mark,with a speed of 204.54 mph! Only thing ‘questionable, his speed was clocked by ‘Fostick Timers’, and the ‘catch’ was,it was calculated by using a slide ruler! Hey,either way,I kinda believe he did it ! 😮 🙄 😉 . Pete.
