Dominick Lagana… making a Bull’s Eye pass at Epping on video.
You gotta’ love what the Lagana family is up to these days and they more than deserve our total support.
Check out the video and comment about it here.
I see a small wing on the car, so I guess that’s not a top fuel car.
I can hear the crew asking him for a good 4.75 – 4.80 run… and he obliges with a 4.742…! I don’t know if that’s for a 1320 track or a thousand feet. It’s a straight and smokeless pass, just beautiful.
Everybody here should see this.
Epping (at this writing) is under IHRA sanction, so that clip was a quarter-mile run where 4.70s are considered a good IHRA Top Fuel lap using a safe combination. I have it on good authority that New England Dragway will switch back to NHRA sanction and plans numerous upgrades to bring the facility up to Glendora’s national event requirements.
Interesting…
But isn’t that wing really a lot smaller than what you see these days on Top Fuel cars…???
4.743 ET is nothing to sneeze at for a rookie TF driver in any event.
That was a very pretty run… straight and with no tire smoke.
We don’t know much about Dominick… YET…!
I have seen him pitside and he seems to me like a very quiet natured kid.
Dominic Will be part of my coverage from Rockingham …Stand by fans
Interesting…
But isn’t that wing really a lot smaller than what you see these days on Top Fuel cars…???
You can’t see every detail, but it appears to be a standard, three-element wing and judging by the crew guys walking near it, the actual height seems normal, as well. I’m just over 6-feet and I could bang my head on the spill-plate of a Top Fuel wing with no problem. Again, it was difficult to tell from the audio, but they may have had a smaller fuel pump on the car. It wasn’t putting out a lot of fuel at idle and I couldn’t tell if Dominic switched it to the high side of the pump before rolling into the second beam. Nice clean run.
Got to see Dom in action at Rockingham…It’s Really Him And Bobby Jr. handeling all the Crew Chief job together. The both know every inch of the car and what do when. He’s a little younger and more prone to get riled if things arne’t just right. Bobby jr. is just cool calm and steady all the way. Everyone, even the announcer remarkes how well mannered and respectful the two are. And to hear Bobby jr. Apoligize to Dominick if the run wasn’t just right is amazing. Bobby sr. is always overseeing and the boys know when to call him in for counsel…mostly ,he lets them do their thing. Dom will be quite the asset when they Both are driving the two cars ..which is coming soon.
Just had Phone Call from Bobby Jr…..says to watch the next places they Race …..DOM’s Gonna DRIVE ! not sure when-where. Bobby said he’ll be coming on the forum with a post soon. …said they’de love to bring the car To the Reunion -Danbury-Sept. …if schedule permits .
The car that Dom drove in the run you have posted is the same car we are running now, just with a different body. All pieces are current technology for a Top Fuel Car. Dom shut off a little early, the run probably would have been a 4.69 around 320 mph. So far Dom has done a wonderfull job driving. It looks like we will be going to NHRA Bristol in a few weeks for his first ever national event expierence.
Thanks again for all the support.
Bobby Lagana Jr.
Cool -Bristol- NHRA Dom Driving ! I’ll find out the TV times and post.

Lagana makes the show in his first race and then bangs the burst panel. The chute automatically pops out. Langdon gets the win light, but slows from his qualifying time. The right side body panel came loose and bent up during the run.
