😀 😀 😀 we can/could go on about this (alcohol classes question) it’s a true shame NHRA are who/what they are…Division 1 has a large number of some of the fastest & quickest alcohol funny cars /dragsters in the country…it’s a organization currently run by “empty suits”…not even…car guys!!!…sadly Raceway Park “next generation”…in charge…simply do not possess the passion/where-with-all of of Uncle Louie,Vinny,Richie Nap-(iello-founders) for motorsports…and so it goes…kind of like spaghetti sauce…Chef Boy-Ar-De…ain’t exactly like mom makes… 😆 😆…I am a bit “jaded” about both (like others we’re still “at it” 50 years & counting)…did sample the “wares” of NHRA for some of the years (Wally Parks days)…plenty times @ Raceway Park…Vinny/Richie always great to me (family) for many years…pretty much like everything else in this “life”…nothing stays the same ‘eh 😆 😆 😆 Drake…ps…all the “cats”…real racers Blevins,Deitrich,DeAngeles…many others too…that were very instrumental in Moroso’s great success…not in the “house” any longer too…Dick was very special indeed…somebody else can assess “today” footprint 😀 😀 😀

I too missed seeing the alcohol classes @ Etown. Off to LVD for the divisional to check ’em out. I have an interesting story to share regarding NHRA. During the Summernationals, I took a walk through the ProMod pits in search of T-shirts. None for sale. I spoke to two teams (no connection) and they took the time to explain why no T-shirts for sale. Seems that to sell them, NHRA gets a cut of the sales and they all are sold in a separate trailer “on the midway”. Here’s the real kicker…to start sale of your Car/teams shirt you must pay NHRA $15,000 initially!! 😯 Obviously, no ProMod t-shirts @ Etown this year.

Big Money controls everything I guess…So fortunate we can have ‘full run’ of the place at Lebanon…as we did at Island with the the support of the Track owners, who are ‘from Our Day’ and understand.Wow…just like Nascar…Vendors have to pay big fees to just park thier rigs…down here at Rockingham Speedway (Formerly North Carolina Motor Speedway) the vendors bailed out of track property and just went across the street for a quarter of the rate to my neighbors land ,were he has a campground. Sad…the money corrupts everything….THANK ALL OUR SPONSORS when you see them, that Make our Race possible! Like Howard says “you can “have” the track like you did at Island, if you cover the cost of your event” ….Thanks Howie !

And hear you thought just the ‘fuel’ company’s are ripping us off, always giving us ‘excuses’ why they have to raise prices; well here’s another monopoly in the U.S. the N.H.R.A that dig ‘deep’ in our pockets during National Events! Sad thing about it, $$$$ talks, and bull*#^% walks!!!

Doing a little more research on why the alcohol cars are no longer at Englishtown, I was told the amount of area in the pits is limited. Somebody had to go. These new rigs take up a lot of area.

As far as the NHRA goes, I am still mad about them forcing all the stock class cars into superstock in the early 1970’s.
