Frank Lupo and the gang…out of Stamford. Remember “Cantankerous” …Had a few ‘Research & Developemant cars. Gas & M/P. things would blow up…back to shop…fine tune….. Became leading supplier . Remember one Gas Coupe with tranny fluid dripping ddown the INSIDE of the plexi windows. Those Yellow decals were on MANY cars . Understand principles split up and now there’s 2 differant current opertions. Need to contact both ? about Nostalgia Drags and Dover History in General.
The Dino & Artie building was finally torn down
quite a while ago. Beside racing trans they were one of the
first in the area that was able to rebuild the Allison truck(gm) transmissiom. 😮
As all the racers know Frank Lupo is on his own now in Maryland 😛
with his killer torque converters if correct he uses the name Dynamic converters.
Harold and him went their own ways a few years ago, 😥
Harold still uses the name Dynamic Transmission for his fine transmissions., 😉
Frairbanks transmissions was Franks Lupo’s dad’s company if I remember, 😕
remember colorfull decals for the company 😎
having some senor moment’s here 🙄
I hear V Bob going up-stair now to get a picture of those decals now 😆 😆 😆
hope he put the AC on last night 😈
Didn’t they spray paint the transmissions yellow with black “Tiger” stripes ?.An original would be interesting .
them’s are it 😮
still see one every-so-often
usually at a GOOD nostalgia meet,
even the e-town swap meets 🙁
might see one for sale, 😮
funny how the next breed of racers
have no idea of the history
that goes with the paint sceme, 😳
Frank Lupo did R&D for mopar
for the hemi cars and perfected
the now famous 9″ converter concept.

Hi,
The father, Frank Lupo, who started the business in CT, back in the day I think he ran a ’64 Dodge SS/BA Hemi.
Andy
Dino,
Another good posting Dino. That’s (3) Pignoli cookies for you!
Good pick-up by Andy (Plain Busted), Fairbanks car, 1964 Dodge SS/BA (Dupree and Lupo)
Ran SS/BA in 67′ or 70′. Had to be a SS/CA in 69′ and 70′.
“Cantankerous”, very loud 65′ Mopar. Another A/MP at Dover.
Yes Dino, correct on the transmissions, You either got a good one, or a bad one,
nickname “Leaky-Lena”.
Remember the “Cheetah” valve-bodies.
Thanks for chiming in Bobby S. Hope all is well.
Yes, Dino & Arties demolished. Big contamination problem their. E.P.A. and NYS-D.E.C.
involved. MTBE’s got into the drinking water system. There goes the neighborhood.
Another Dino & Artie story to follow.
Paul

Oh yes…the striped trannys and converters. I had a few of the Fairbanks “Slingshot Action” converters. Loved the crazy stickers for them too!
I was turned on to them from Centolanza Bros when I was 16. Today I STILL run Frank’s Dynamic products in my Chevelle. Excellent customer service.
Bob Smith
If any of you guys are interested Lenny Croteau who worked for Frank owns Ultimate converter concepts in Milford CT .He is doing some realy nice stuff in stock super stock good guy who will work with you.
Dino,
Canoli’s in the middle of the week no way. There reserved for Saturday night, or Sunday mornings in the tower.
Notice how many of us damn Italians raced at Dover.
Many missed their Sunday pasta meal. Unless they raced a Chevy, then they would be home early Sunday for their macaroni and meatballs. That ones for Gary (Storm King). I know he’s not Italian (unless you spell Smirtic with a vowell on the end). It’s for his hatred of Chevy’s or anything not Mopar 😀
Nice photo of “Cantankerous”, which may have been the original 64′ Dodge SS/BA car
that the trio-partnership ran.
I still remember “Cheetah” valve bodies from someone. Anyone else.
Or was that, A-1 Transmissions or Turbo-Action with the lighning-bolt insignia.
Do you think Christopher Columbus would have ran at Dover with the partnership of
Nina-Pinta-Santa Maria. I heard their transmission leaked too 😆
Paolo.
Attenzione in the pozzi e altre parti del corpo …tutti
folli auto in corsa che amano mangiare e segnali scherzi ……. 😆
…………….And I expect my Canoli delivery promptly at Island Oct .18 …….man- this sounds like the start of a goofy topic…now back to our regularly scheduled show: Fairbank Racing Automatics
