HI GUYS. NICE LOOK ON THE NEW WEB FRONT PAGE DINO. AND I BEEN AND BUSY FOUND A NEW NOSTALGIA HARLEY SPORTSTER DRAGBIKE DOWN IN FLA I BOUGHT IN SEPT AND HAD IT DELIVERED HERE IN OCT FOR RESTORATION AND FOR NEXT YEARS DOVER DRAGS . THIS BIKE WAS RACED BACK IN 1984 AND SET 5 NATIONAL RECORDS BEFORE THAT SEASONS END WITH ONE RECORD AS THE QUICKEST PASS ON A GAS HARLEY AT 9.09 IN THE NATIONAL MOTORCYCLE RACING ASSOCIATIONS / KNOWN AS THE N.M.R.A. A CO-SPONSORED N.H.R.A. CLASS . THE CHASSIS IS NOW DRY STRIPPED AND MR VICTOR TERENZIO JUST FINISHED UP A FEW WELDS ON THE FRAME FOR ME THIS WEEK. I WILL SHOW THE PROGRESS IN PHOTOS AS IT COME BACK TO LIFE AFTER SITTING FOR MANY YEARS LAST ONE I DID AND FINISHED WAS BACK IN 2001 AND RESIDES NOW AT THE MOTORCYCLEPEDIA MUSEUM IN NEWBURGH NEW YORK WITH MY FAST ORANGE MACHINE . HERE ARE A FEW PHOTOS OF THIS IMFAMOUS LEAN MEAN HARLEY RACING MACHINE. ORIGINAL OWNER WAS WAYNE ” TATTOO ” LOFTAIN FROM BRENTWOOD N.Y. WHO NOW RESIDES RETIRED IN PALM COAST FLA. BIKE WAS PAINTED BY DAVE PERWITZ OF CYCLE FABRICATIONS FAME IN BROCKTON MASS BACK THEN.

yes john i meant retired from that old long island expressway area . i spoke to wayne before and after i bought it from a guy named doug atkinson in hawthorne fl. near gainesville . doug told me he had bought the bike 6 years ago in 2007 or 2008 all apart / with a blown up 96 c.i. ironhead motor and met wayne at a swap meet two weeks before i contacted him after i saw it for sale on facebook . he got it from rick amen in the jacksonville fla area who was the last person to race it as a complete and running dragbike. o.k. see ya john fastlane 😀

hey everybody as promised with spring now here a few more photos and more updates on project ironhead. first thanks to victor terenzio on fixin a few more broken parts i found with his super fast welding jobs when i need him . new fresh frame paint jobs now done and my graphic decals are done. the rebuilt 1976 vintage harley sportster engines complete and mounted into the frame. front forks are on the frame and today i am gettin my front and rear wheels ready polished up and they will be mounted next and on the small finishing items after that hope to have it finished and fired up by mid to late april for a few shakedown runs in may 😎 so thats it for now. see you all very soon when i get back into the fastlane 😀

WELL IT TOOK A LITTLE LONGER THEN I THOUGHT. BUT HERE SHE IS 😀 FINALLY DONE ONE WEEK BEFORE RACE WEEKEND. SO NOW THAT I AM OFFICIALLY READY I HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL NEXT WEEKEND FOR THE 6TH ANNUAL DOVER NOSTALGIA DRAGS . FASTLANE 😎

NOT SURE YET BOB. IT’S A NEW ENGINE WITH MUCH SMALLER CUBIC INCHES. AND THE BIKE ITSELF HASN’T BEEN ON THE DRAGSTRIP FOR OVER A DECADE. WERE GONNA FIX THAT NEXT WEEK A FEW SHAKEDOWN RUNS WITHOUT ANY BREAKAGE WILL BE JUST FINE FOR ME / A GREAT PLACE TO START 😎

WELL I MADE TO THE FINALS LAST WEEKEND IN THE MONEY BRACKET CLASS AT THE HOT RODS AND HOGS EVENT AT ATCO DRAGWAY ON SEPT THE 21ST / AND IT WAS ALSO WAS MY BIRTHDAY 😀 . SO NOW AFTER DISSAPOINTING OUTING AT THE DOVER DRAGS AT LEBANON VALLEY ON THE 10TH AND THE ENGLISHTOWN HARLEY RACE ON AUGUST 24TH TWO WEEKS LATER. I FOUND A MAGNETO IGNITION GREMLIN AND I SWITCHED BACK TO THE FIRST S&S CARBURETOR THAT I RAN AT THE VALLEY AND AFTER ONLY ONE MAIN JET CHANGE TWO SIZES BIGGER SHE WENT FROM A 12.40 104 M.P.H. ON MY FIRST PASS TO A SCREAMING 11:60 E.T.PASS AT 111+ M.P.H. AFTER THIS I NEEDED TO DIAL IN FOR THE RACE SO I LEFT IT ALONE AND RAN THREE MORE 11:60 PASSES LETTING OFF ON THE TOP END SO I WOULD NOT DO ANY GO HOME EARLY / BREAKOUT RUNS ON SUNDAY AND WHA-LA ! SO NOW HERE’S MY PROOF PHOTO AND I AM VERY HAPPY TO BE BACK IN THE FAST LANE AFTER ALMOST ONE YEAR OF HARD WORK AND MONEY SPENT ON THIS RESTORATION FINALLY HAS PAID OFF ON MY MOST SPECIAL DAY. AND TRUST ME THERE’S MORE M.P.H. AND E.T. LEFT IN THIS NEW MOTOR. SO WATCH OUT MY FELLOW NOSTALGIA DRAGBIKE 2 WHEELING FRIENDS FASTLANES BACK BABY 😎
