Talked about Dover with Frank Iaconio the other day . He remembers running a 57 chevy there . He dosent think he ever raced the PRO STOCK car there but wasn’t sure I told him I would try to find some pictures of the 57 all I know is it was yellow.
Sure Did …Junior Stock Racer when Wagons and Sedan Deliveries popular .Of course it was yellow …It was called “Banana 1″…D/S ’57 Chevy sedan. Ran when we “had the Money up” for Stock Elim. He also ran the “Bad Banana” F/S wagon that he set the record with ,at Conn. Dragway. Here he is at ’69 Super Stock Nationals (My Logo ! ) getting keys to Couger he got for winning “Mr Stock Elim.”
DINO,,Il Capitano di Dover.
A very nice month/year, in 69′.. August 8/9/10, the Super Stock Magazine Nationals, at York, then one week later,,,WOODSTOCK!
On Frank Iaconio’s 57′ Chevy. It ran in D/S in 1967..But in 1969, the 283/283HP (F.I.) Fuel Injected ‘Bad Banana’ car ran in H/Stock (11.00 – 11.49 wt/hp).
And just who did Frank beat in the Stock Eliminator Finals,, another 57′ Chevy 283/283HP
Fuel Injected car,,Laverne Berner’s white H/Stock ‘Stiles Performance’ sponsored car.
And just what times were they running, 12.90’s.
