Looking for ANY pictures, info, or stories about this car. I’ve heard stories of it racing at Dover in the early 60’s. The car was built as “The Rake” in 1957 by speed shop owner and Connecticut Dragway founder Frank Maratta. Raced at Orange, Charlestown, Sanford, Dover, Connecticut, Roanoke, and the 1958 NHRA Nationals in Oklahoma. Featured in several publications of the day including HOT ROD October 1960. Repainted blue and called “Maratta’s Missile” by the time Dover and Connecticut Dragway opened. Was going for the national A/Gas record when the engine blew, was sold in Hartford in 1965. The previous owner purchased it in 1972 and had it all these years right up until August of 2015. We’re only restoring the drivetrain and leaving the rest of the car as you see it today. Any pictures or stories would be greatly appreciated! Thanks -Dean
