Some may have heard this story before, but our Dad took us to Dover so we wouldn’t race on the street. My brother is 9 years older than I am, so he started it, I followed a bit after. Dad kept the cars in top tune, learned early on how to race prep a torque flite, ad built quite a few of the for other folks. When my brother got drafted I raced the max wedge, when he got out, he bought the ‘Arrow from Doc. Dad would drive once or twice a year at best; usually on fathers day he’d make a pass or two. He was a great driver; its just that he did all this for us, not hmself. He was able to watch a run and tell what a car turned within five hundredths of a second before it was announced. I never saw him miss.
