Way back when……about 2009 Danbury Dover Reunion….Video Bob meets ‘this Guy” Harry Laplatte ( “a promoter”), at the event.The “more about him ” link below tells about that.THEN I run into him at the Henderson Drag Times Reunion in N.C. this past fall. OK Harry forgets his password and user name and calls up for help today.Hes built a clone- “SATILLITE” of his dad’s old car.We fix him all up and he’s now on here as “hemikid” Then the call goes into a HOUR of Absolutly COOL Planning -Contacts- Networking-and fantastic potential for Dover Events INCLUDING the Race at Lebanon AND THE 50th Anniversary.Harry and I are working on some ultimate Great stuff. Seems Harry runs All the Swap Meets at the Super Chevy Shows AND Has hooked up with some pretty Heavy hitters to put online , only two weeks a -A Drag Racing Hall of Fame Website :

Sit Down…He’s Building the MG! …And Hold on Guys …the other one is “THE LITTLE GIANT”….Can’t relate the whole Hour conversation… but do we have some goodies in the works.More as we progress ….Boy o Boy 😀

thanks for the drum role Dino for my mg clone and crosley clone but the 1964 hemi savoy named SATELLITE is the real deal ,sporting its org paint , not a clone!!! after my dad passed he left it to his kids and i really have to thank my brother wade for all his hard work with the car,hes buying all the drag news and mags from june 1964 to supers stock nationals at ny national in 66 im not sure the month last time it ran as to date all we have is 3 pics 1 at island aug 1st and 2 at pocono drag lodge racing bob harop flying carpet and the jersey duke no pics of him racing micky tompsons bucth leal drivin thunderbolt i do have a 6cyl car same white that will be a clone.we are plannig 2014 aug 1st to run the car at island dragway where it was 50 years after the day big daddy set the 200 MPH record that was a big day scientest said it coulnt be done then they said you would never see that again i think it was in the late 20s they set the 100MPH record it took them 34 years to gain to 100 mph and i was there the first drag race i ever went to at 6 years old needless to say i went to school that monday knowing i saw something great.We all have our stories and i want to hear them all all you guys that raced late 50s early 60s thanks for the best years of my life im proud to know all of you even the cheaters,that covers most of you ill tell you 1 story jerry stien THEACHERS PET wanted to borrow my dads rear bumper i tought something was up cause his bumper looked fine,my dad and jerry asked my brothers wade and jason to take it off ,they were wareing flip flops and you may have guessed it bumper was filled with lead with steal shavings on top so you would see rust if you look at back side,lead dosnt rust ,worse part my brothers allmost cut their feet off so close till next time harry the hat

Thanks dino , when your in a car , its not easy to see keys. To let the pure Dover guys know, the mg will be red , but mustang frt end, maybe strait frt in the future.It will be at Lead East aug 31st . I got the idea at Marcus dairy.I talk to the owner i think about theTD grille bars. My uncle had a red td with 327 he bought in port jervous.But i liked red one i saw at Markus better ! It was meaner and sat perfect.That was my inspiration . And as for the 50 crosley CD my grandad bought it new for my dad in hoboken nj and my dad gave t to me,almost got a rotory seeing frame is so thin little giant boxed his i think,in any event it took guts to go that fast with such a small frame. That show really showed me people that went trough a special time, and knew it was, while living it. HTH

If Harry is really ‘serious’ about building a clone “Little Giant”,not only is George and Joe Brazee gonna have a smile ‘ear to ear’,there will be a bunch of us that would love to see this happen.The ‘original’ was,without a doubt a Dover’ legend’,having a ‘clone’ is the closest thing you can get,so please Harry,don’t disappoint us,GO FOR IT !!!!

We’re sending Harry Info on it…He already has a Historical Photo disc with ALL those great photos.
On the Promotin’ scene….He’s headed to VP Fuel offices tomorrow to pump us up….get it.. pump …oh well..and we are working on some cool ‘contacts’ and projects already.More as they are confirmed.
