The October issue of the “Performance Racing Industry” magazine has a great article on Howie, and Lebanon Valley Auto Racing. 😎 😎

Howie’s ‘first’ love was always the ( roundy-round) stock cars.Besides,it always drew big crowds and tough competition. The ‘dragstrip’ itself (back in the day) was not as well maintained or updated as well as the stock car track.Sunday the dirt and dust was evident in the early a.m. from Saturday night oval track racing ( hard to guess your e.t. dial -in during time trails,as it warmed up and the dust cleared,it changed your dial-in times during eliminations). At the same time, the strips shut down area was too short to handle 300 mph+ drag cars,I believe N.H.R.A gave a warning to be a sanctioned track, things have to change,or? Finally,in 1994 Howie stepped up to the plate, hired a manager to run the strip, bought property to lengthen the shut down area, and started building that 3 story tower, and replaced the muddy graveled staging lanes with blacktop! It’s come a long way baby, and we love it! Many thanks to Howie and the managers that run it now for Howie!
