        JOHN SAVINO
        February 11, 1943 – February 5, 2014
        Newburgh, NY
        John Savino of Newburgh entered into eternal rest on February 5, 2014 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh, NY. He was 70 years old.

        The son of the late Francesco and Maria (Giordano) Savino, John was born on February 11, 1943 in Italy. John married Jocelyne Jenkins in Canada on June 15, 1963. Possessing a great love for cars, John was the proud owner of Savino’s Auto Repair in Newburgh. John was a member of the National Hot Rod Association.
        John is survived by his loving wife of 50 years here in Newburgh at home; his loving children: Teresa Savino of New York, NY, Frank and his wife, Darlene Savino of Glen Rock, NJ, and Joanne and her husband, Frank Turanski of Houston, TX; his siblings: Ralph and his wife, Mary Savino of Fishkill, NY, Theresa and her husband, Andrea Tagliafierro of East White Plains, NY, Vito and his wife, Gloria Savino of Brewster, NY, Luigi and his wife, Colette Savino of Bedford, NY, Rosette DiPaolo of Hartsdale, NY; his grandchildren: Ryan, Marissa and Jenna Savino and Ian and Jake Turanski; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
        In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by a brother, Carmine Savino.

        Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, February 10th at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 11th at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 145 Benkard Ave., Newburgh.
        In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in John’s name to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005 or Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, 1275 York Ave., New York, NY 10065.

                Great guy. Always remember his “Wild Man” Vega back in the 70s. Said hello last season as we were putting our helmets on in the lanes @ LVD. RIP John.

                        I just came from his wake Tex, Bobby Herman, Linda Gunn, and other dover people were there my father too he knew John since 1968 !. The big crew from Newburgh is thinned out over the past few years there was a nice picture of Johns ” wild Man”” camaro conv black 1969 used during the last days of dover. Rip John, Brian
