I just wanted to let you all know that I have received photo discs from Bobby Schlegel and Video Bob (thanks, Guys). And though I haven’t had time to go through all the images yet, I’ll be getting to that in the next couple of weeks. The (race) story is scheduled for my May 2010 issue, as it just missed the cut-off date for the March book, which already contains the Dover Reunion Car Show coverage. I’ll be working with Dino for support info on the race and one of my main goals is to help promote your new friends at Island Dragway for the great job they did for you.
And before I head up the Boulevard today, this is for all of you who support the magazine . . . please accept my sincere thanks for your support. I’m not doing this to be seen as the “Big California magazine guy.” That’s not my style. I’m doing it because I lived in Connecticut for the first 40 years of my life and I believe in what all of you are trying to do. Also, I fully understand that print publications are seen as “Dinosaurs” by some of these website “content providers,” but at least this is legitimate media with true qualified readers. I’m not givin’ up any time soon, so thanks. I appreciate the fact that you’re coming along for the ride. Cheers . . . Randy
P.S. The March issue also contains a full feature on Rit Pustari’s Connecticut-based Top Fuel car. I shot it at Englishtown when Grover was waiting to meet me!

“Sent Randy And The office Gang some shirts ,decals & Plaques…..love to see the locals expressions of his ride with a Participant decal on the window ๐ฎ “
Youโre welcome Randy glade we were able to help out. From the info on the forum you might be getting a bunch more to review, hope you have a large pie with pepperoni/sausage and you best beverage when you get into it, keep you in the Ct mood.
For myself, I like to hold the article Iโm reading, the internet magazines are good I guess for companies because they do not need all those people on payroll. But they forget that those are the writers and layout people who know what the readers want. Any one can sit a screen and put pictures on and some bla, bla, bla, and think it looks good, maybe that is why all those magazines had to go electronic press because loss of circulations.
Iโm sure everyone who has or is going to read Drag Racer magazine will say
โTHATโS WHAT IโM TALKING ABOUTโ, drag racing displayed & explained the right way, the magazine is Awesome, Iโm sure you will have all the support available from the area. Thanks for all you able to do in keeping Dover Drag Strip
In everyoneโs minds by your support for Smoky & Groverโs reunion and the Dover Drag Strip Nostalgia Drag race that Dino & Bob Smith was able to pull off in such a short time.
just my feelings
Bobby S.
Yes sir . . . no runs, no drips, no errors. Go to the head of the class. Now, if we could only teach Dino to spell! (love ‘ya, D!).

Thanks, Dino. Hey, orders of 15 or more can be had for half-off the cover price. I have the number to call for those, so get with me when the time comes.
Oh, that sticker might be too big for the Duval windshield on my roadster. Anything over an inch takes too much of the old driver’s view. Might have to slap it on the HHR SS.
Randy…Sent you a “mini” ๐ Oh Oh -We need a photo of that Bad-Boy in our Current Projcts Heading
Latest On Nostalgia Drags Feature In Drag Racer Magazine…Sending Randy final batch of submitted photos Mon., from many sources….including Brian M.,Tom Blake, Gary Teto,Greg Van Ess & others. He informs me the article should have about 25 photos ….and I’m polishing up the final story draft. Covers are up to PR guys and Art Dierctor…lets hope for the best.
To clarify . . . My cover selection(s) have to be approved by the Circulation Department and by the V.P. Creative Design. Main cover images have to stand up to a variety of criteria.
The ability to generate a favorable “sell through percentage,” or Single Copy Sales, is the primary consideration. Sell through is the percentage sold of total copies distributed. Most circulation specialists say that you have less than 10 seconds to attract the attention of a prospective buyer on the newsstand. Images and blurbs are what we’re all attracted to.
Regular readers may have noticed that I do my best to run a good mixture of cover images. I haven’t had many that weren’t approved, but wait till you see the next cover (due out in a few weeks). It’s hot! I think you’ll agree (Dino).
My all-time best cover was March ’09, which had that dynamic head-on photo of Dave Sano standing through the roof hatch of his Grand Am Funny Car. It sold several thousand more than average.
Hummm…
I don’t know if my subscription is still current. ๐
when in dout ๐ฅ ๐ณ
“SEND THE CHECK OUT” ๐
that’s all there is to it,,, ๐
The Subscription deal does save ya money…Maso -Maybe call the Subscription Dept.and check.I’m sure if it was about to expire, they’de hound you to re-up. V-Bob…Randy doesn’t resort to the Girlie bit like some..they need that cause their articles can’t get by on their own ๐
not sure if they send reminders out, because of the $$$$
some magazines put cards in magazines
these are easy to loose,
check the mailing label on the wrapper to see if
your ex-date is listed
sure Randy will come on and let everyone know
the right answer, why guess, it a magazine worth the price ๐
if you send a check in and you have an active sub ๐ณ
SUPRISE you just entended it ๐
and will have NO worry about missing any future issues ๐
