Sorry to report but Lebanon Valley’s main tech.inspector, Paul Roberts has passed away. He had been with the track as far back as the ’60’s.
He was always firm but fair as an inspector. Safety was his # 1 concern. Even this year with his health failing, he still managed to work a few Saturdays at LVD. He teched my car at a rental day this year and still gave me some good tips for my car. He will be missed.

…. I have had the pleasure 😀 of being teched in by Pual 1st time I ever went to the Valley back in the late 70s ❗ ….sorry to hear of this 🙁 he was very nice ❗ ,and always had a smile 😀 on his face when I talked to him in the staging lanes ❗
Wow.that’s some ‘shocking’ news about Paul Roberts! I first met him in 1966 in the inspection line at the Valley.Your 100% right when you said he was ‘firm’,and no pulling the wool over his eyes;strictly ‘by the book, and safety factors’; that was Paul, and yet somewhat friendly.I got an old small b/w photo of him partially turned by the starting line, around ’67’.I also remember him inspecting the stock cars also, when I was helping a few friends of mine with there race cars in the early ’70’s.He was ‘dedicated’ to his job as a official ‘inspector, and a great asset to Lebanon Valley Raceway.May he R.I.P.
….. Firm ❓ , ….By the book ❓ , the first time I went there and Pual came over to me and said “were ya from” and I said “Dover” he looked at the car and asked if I had a driveshaft loop and I sais “Yes” and then he said “OK” you need another spring on the throttle and youre all set ❗ I said “OK” and that was that 😀 ❗ …….then I hadnt been there in a while and went with the Black T-Bird I had and another guy came over and was giving me the go around and Pual came over and told the guy that I was all set ❗ ❗ …….. the guy signed the card for me and I said “thanks” 😀 ❗ ………..aaaaahhhhhh the good old days ❗ 😀 GOD BLESS ❗ yes he may have been FIRM but he was NICE ❗ 😀
