Manhattan Speed Shop
‘2’ Locatons, one in the Bronx, and one in Manhattan
They sponsored several cars that participated at Dover Drag Strip and New York National Speedway.
Does anybody have any information on who owned the establishment, or any other connections.

Hey Dino,I think Tom Blake was looking for some specific ‘nostalgia’ decals for his 55 Chevy gasser project.This might help him out with ‘duplicates’ he’s after.

😀 😀 😀 Hey Paulie…you could “try” Jerry Meade… good…longtime Jersey racer…think this phone # is good 201-265-4625…I did drive Jerry’s Comp Eliminator Ford powered Econo-Altered in early-mid 80’s for two or three years (his long-time driver/good friend…Lew Hendershott took a few years sabbatical to start/grow his family)…after our funny car circuit/touring days…came to end…the “days” when you actually had to qualify for the Comp field (more cars…than “spots” available ‘eh) 😆 😆 😆 did the NHRA Division 1 Series and 3-4 National events a year…pretty much always made the “field” too…but…just barely!!! 😆 😆 😆 anyway…Jerry was sponsored by…Manhattan Speed Shop for some years…he knew those guys pretty well…”geez”…we had a good group/team of people in “play”…Bob “Marley” (U…get the idea 😆 😆 😆 )…Louie “Rock-‘N-Roll” DeMarco…& Jerry a “hard” (ly) workin’ “dude”…should have partnered ($$$) up with Jerry for long term…just didn’t/don’t…”believe” in partnerships much (I ain’t…the smartest guy…comes to the “surface”…yet again!!!) 😆 😆 😆 …but had good…’er…very good time (s)…as I stated above…he could give you some…inside “info”…ol’ Jerry’s…a one of a kind…probably a lil’ long in the tooth now to go racing… 😆 😆 😆 but…a real…racer/guy 😀 😀 😀 Drake p.s…Jerry used to be able to magically “patch” your phone call…any call…to third world countries & beyond…for hours…for free… 😆 😆 😆 but hey… that’s yet another “story”…for yet another time!!!
