So I get a notice in the mail from Blue Cross-Blue Shield stating ” only 7 monthes left til your 65th birthday and I should Act Now to avoid a possible penalty” ! for not enrolling…of course they’re pitching Me to sell extra supplimental insurance. I hate Government websites and figured a bunch of you have already been down this road.Whats the Deal ? What does it Really cover -where do I go to “Enroll” and should I get a ‘suppliment ” for what It doesn’t cover? I’ll be 65 , Jan. 5, 2013.
AARP has stuff too but the seem to be politically incorrect for Me. Part A …Part B ????

Dino, I got Medicare when I was 59, probably because I was on Disability. I forgot to enroll within the allowed time frame, and I was penalized The amount that they deduct for my coverage each month, a one time fee of $110.00. I researched the options, and decided on a Humana Plan, which replaces the Medicare plan.Regular Medicare plans have you covered under part A and B, which is Drs. and Major Medical, hospitals and stuff, but you need part D for prescription coverage. I get a pretty good deduction on prescriptions, Dr. visits are $20.00, and Specialists are free, with no referrals. As far as a supplemental insurance, I opted out because of the cost. ( and I agree on the AARP thing, I cancelled my membership 5yurs ago. Besides, they really don’t save you much, if anything. You should go to the Medicare Website for more info, every case is different. Good luck. …………………Mikey 😆
