What a day today! My wife and I drove over to Lake Placid, FL to see Rick and April Arnold who I haven’t seen in almost 40 years. I remembered April as being tall and pretty and that’s still the case. Rick looks almost the same as he did 40 years ago when we worked at Redman Chevrolet. Redman was my first job when I came out of the Army in 1967. That’s where I met Rick, who was one of the best mechanics there. I was driving a 1962 Corvette in those days. I was a used car mechanic with my $29.00 box of tools from Sears. About a month and a half after working there, Rick came to me one day and said “hey kid how would you like to drive a dragster for me”. Without Rick I probably would never have had a dragster. He was my Mentor and after our visit today he’s still my Mentor. I drove away pumped right up the same way I did 40 years ago when he first asked me to drive for him.
