NETO race 14 was completed Sunday September 13 at Island Dragway. Thirty two racers participated on what turned out to be a partly sunny day. In Comp eliminator, Chris Kraft was the winner in his lenco shifted 55 Chevy. Chris ran an 8.556 at160.06 mph. on an 8.50 index. Runner up was Lou Laferrara Jr who ran 8.19 at 166.29 mph on a 7.75 index. In Nostalgia eliminator, Jerry Hillier in his 72 Maverick survived 5 rounds of competition for the win. Jerry’s winning run was a 12….763 at 104.87 mph on a 12.72 dial. Fred Goodwin was runner up in his 68 Camaro. Fred ran a 10.871 at 123 mph on a 10.84 dial.
The limited series 10.0 index was run Sunday. The qualifying order after 2 qualifying runs was:
1. Jody Kenly. 10.014
2. Rich Mauceri 10.094
3. Al Banome. 10.168
4. John Cozzali. 10.23
Al Banome took the win with a 10.209 at 141.05 mph. John Cozzali was runner up with a break out 9.853 at 136.41 mph.
