Despite a threatening weather forecast NETO Race 4 was completed today. Twenty competitors returned for a second day of racing. With great cooperation between the NETO racers and the track officials we were able to complete the race before the rains were to come in early afternoon. When all was said and done we had two great final races. In Nostalgia Eliminator the final was a heads up race between Jay Powell in his altered and Al Banome in his beautiful Corvette. Both racers dialed 10.05, at the finish it was a winning Jay Powell as Al Banome broke out with a 10.04. In Comp Eliminator the final paired Vinny Laurita with his 9 second Camaro and John Giambertone in his “Psyched Clone” mercury Cyclone. In a very close race John Giambertone won in a double breakout. John ran .04 under his 9.75 index while Vinny was too quick, going .06 under his 9.00 index. It was great racing and great fun for all involved.
