On Saturday Sept 26 and Sunday Sept 27 NETO races 15 and 16 were held at Lebanon Valley Dragway.
Thirty eight racers participated in the races this weekend.
On Saturday, the race was sponsored by Corewood Ventures. Comp eliminator was won by Tony Supino in his thundering 1963 Nova running a 8.26 on a 8.25 index to defeat runner up Lou Laferrara jr who turned on the red by .001 seconds and slowed to a 7.807 on a 7.50 index.
In Nostalgia eliminator Roger Wright in his 74 Cuda capped a great day with a win by running 11.07 on a 11.00 dial. Erin Dewhirst was runner up in the T and D 1969 Mustang with a 10.87 on a 10.83 dial, providing a nice birthday present to husband Tom.
The Limited Series 10.0 Index was run Saturday. The race was sponsored by C & F Race Cars. Five racers qualified via two time trials.
The qualifying order was
1. Rich Mauceri 10.04
2. Jody Kenly 9.999
3. Guy Johnson 9.9612
4. Jay Powell 9.9617
5. Al Banome 9.944 (broke on second qualifier)
Guy Johnson emerged the winner running a 10.13 over runner up Jay Powell’s 10.23.
On Sunday the race was sponsored by Overbaugh Construction. It was also the John Parks Memorial race to honor the long time crew chief of the New York Twister Funny Car. In Comp Eliminator Vinny Scicchitano in his small block Ford powered dragster was the winner running 8.57 on a 8.50 index. Chris Kraft in his BBC 55 Chevy was runner up running 8.56 on a 8.50 index.
Nostalgia Eliminator was won by Jody Kenly in his 72 Challenger running 10.08 on a 10.04 dial. Runner up was Fred Michel in his SBC powered 1979 Monza. Fred ran a 12.44 on a 12.55 dial.
