Just want to say Hi to everyone. I have a very short memory of that special place, Dover. I was just 17 and ran my , (shhh don’t tell), mothers ChevyII after driving all the way over from Torrington, Ct. She never did figure out why the tires didn’t last, but my down fall was the cut out I had welded into the exhause system. Really caught it when the cap fell off on her way to work.
Sorry to say it was a short love affaire since I only had 1961 and part of 62 to race. After that I joined the Marine Corps and shipped out to boot then over the pond to VietNam. By the time I got out of the Corps and back to Ct the track had closed. To me this is the next best thing, reliveing the “old days”.
Anyway , I moved down here to the Tampa area of Florida after my wife passed away and needing something to do I started Drag Raceing again with a 2005 Mustang GT. Not a bad ride but it is my street car so no wild mods to it, lol. It would never pass inspection back in the north but here we don’t have smog inspection, thank god.
So just saying hi and that I’m happy that I joing the forum and ODF. Looking forward to hopefully seeing some of you at Lebanon Valley in August. Maybe I can talk the Swamp Rat to go too.
