heres a photo and a quote i found this morning over at our old school dragbikes and riders forum at dragbike . com i participate in its a harley powered dragster wih a mid 30s to late 40s blown knucklehead motor in it . it had stated that back in the early days you could not race motorcycles a some tracks down in the south where this photo was taken owner was and is still alive in his 80s and his name is pete hill from greenville s.c. he went on to campaign a this combo as a blown top fuel bike later into the 70s and 80s and early 90s before he retired from racing. i remember i was told that dover dragtrip had even banned bikes from racing for a few years in the mid 60s. another qoute stated gee what would have happened if the engine ever blew up in the little dragster with the steering coloum mounted above that motor the way it is run / shown in photo also . cool piece though i thought i would share with you old dover farts and old school rare photo dragster fans today .
