        Dino,
My name is Tommy Lee Byrd and I’m a photographer and writer from Dayton , Tennessee . You might remember me from Jalopy Journal–my screen name is HenryJGuy and I have a stretched Lyndwood dragster that “Maso” contacted me about a couple years ago. Anyway, I’m in the process of writing a book for CarTech publishing, and the subject will be abandoned drag strips. I’d like to include Dover Drag Strip in the book, and you would be a great source for information, photos and all that good stuff.
I have to say the disc you sent has one of the best collections of drag racing photos I’ve ever seen. I spent hours looking through them! Anyway, I’d definitely like to use a few of these pictures in my book about abandoned drag strips
Are there any photos of the track in an abandoned state? Has the property been redeveloped or is the track still resting there? I’m definitely interested in including it, so please let me know if you want to contribute some of those historic photos, as well as some photos of the track in its current state. Let me know if you can help–I look forward to hearing back from you!
