John Shimer (roxrec) is not currently on the forum at this time and asked me
to post this: Today in Danbury, Ct, family and friends gathered to celebrate the
life of Frank “Little Frankie” Anthony Azzarito. He was taken from us at the age
of 19 in Vietnam on Feb. 3, 1968. At today gathering, there was a mix of smiles, teary eyes and hugs as everyone reminisced and told stories of good times passed.
So, this weekend we celebrate Memorial Day, lets take a little time to remember
the fallen and our service men and women now serving in our Arm Forces. We owe
them that much ! Bless you John for your loyalty to your best friend, “Little Frankie”.
Frank…
“YOU ARE DEARLY MISSED” !!

R.I.P Frankie….. 🙁 ………………The only true hero is the one who came home without life…….. 🙁
Frank Azzarito is always in our thoughts and prayers!

I bring this post to the top again as a request from Roxrec which I am proud to do. I cannot
put it any better than STORM KING did in another post. This is a day to remember those who
gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country. Most of them were just kids, like “Little Frankie”.
This is an important day for a lot of us ODF members (V-Bob, Don K. Pat D.) and so many others in our Dover family who made it back, but will never forget the ones that did not !! God bless
them all !!
Frank…
It is my honor to make this post as a request from our good friend, ROXREC.. It’s been
45 years and 79 days since “Little Frankie” gave his life in Vietnam. It was Feb. 3rd, 1968.
John Shimer and Frankie were best friends and every year at this time since Frankie’s passing, John, family and friends gather to pay their respects to their fallen friend. This year was no
different. “Little Frankie” even kept the rain away for their visit. Please remember all of our
Fallen Heroes along with all that are presently serving. GOD BLESS THEM and GOD BLESS the
UNITED STATES of AMERICA ❗ ❗
Frank…

It is my honor once again to make this post for our friend ROXREC (John Shimer).
Smokey would bring Little Frankie and John with him almost every Sunday to Dover.
Smokey would do his thing and the kids would run the pit area. Great memories ❗
Today, Smokey and John along with family and friends will join together at Little Frankie’s
grave site to honor their fallen friend. Please take time this weekend to remember all
those who gave their lives for our country and all those currently serving. Thank you….
