Hey guys n’ girls,head to Atco tomorrow, Saturday, October 18th for the very best in nostalgia racing !!!
The last BIG nostalgia race of the year!!
Gonna try and break into the 8’s with the Dover Drag Strip .Com 34 Willys!!
We will be match racin “The Red Baron”, the race is the rain out from ETown !!
Stop by our pit and say Hi,we will have Dino’s t shirts at the car for sale if ya don’t have a couple allready!!

Good luck guys we were down there last weekend and it was very fast .Atco is the best race track on the east coast if your going to go fast it will be there.

10:20 am SAT…Direct from the Atco Staging Lanes…Bob’s got the Willys in Lane 13 for the first Time run…weather : COLD 47* -clear …He just saw Clem LaChance go by…everybody busy to get ready…Got the Match race with “The Red Baron” ’33 willys Pick-up later . Lost the trailer brakes on the 4 hr. haul from Ct. …be workin on that repair later. More to come -stand -by.

First Run report from Atco: Paul Blasted out with a 1.23 reaction. Against Red Baron in the other lane ..car launched good …shift points great BUT when the hard M&H’s he has to run with the “nostalgia’ wheels hit high gear …The Willys went sideways 😮 ‘Paul Said, “I was looking at the cones and lifted and still went 12.74 …Boy THIS IS FUN ! I’m having a ball !”…And the crowd went wild ,what with Paul sideways and the Red Baron carrying the wheels for half track …this was just a Time trial ! …Chassis adjustments and tire pressure changes being done now as I type …The Boys Are so pumped on the phone , I can almost not understand them …And It’s all being Videoed !

SECOND RUN ! now we’re cooking ! Tire ,Chassis & lane change:

Again paired with Red Baron for 2nd Time Trial
9.66 against Red Baron’s 9.65 !

60ft times….1.292 against Baron’s 1.290 !

1/8 mile times…5.77 @116mph against Baron’s 6.32 @ 108 mph ! ! !

Throttle linkage fell off in the lights so mph -1/4 off (106)…back to fix in pits . Air temp starting climb …now 55* sun trying to come out..if the track warms , they both could see the 8’s !

ROUND ONE …3 :08pm …The Match Race !Lithuainian Locomotive vs. The Red Baron:

Baron holeshots the Loco…..half track side-by-side….Top end -both cars Spin the tires with bad track conditions…. Baron by a nose 9.54/127mph to a loosing 9.82/111mph. Two rounds to go ….The Dover Guys fine -tuning and initiating Wingdale Old Skool tricks in the pits 😎 Paul says “most fun with your clothes on !”

Atco’s race surface is not that good and the air and grains are allway’s good so it make’s for a bad combo.
tuff track to race at back when we won the points race with the BB/A I held on to the brake thru 1 st gear
and now when we run the TA/FC it’s a tuff call. you my what to put some thing to give you some down force or slow down the shift so it
doesn’t hit so hard, Alcohol funny cars do’nt lite the tires in high gear

Dino, you’ve got all the results posted here. We only made 3 runs. Track was damn slick, dunno if it was just the weather, the track, or both?????

Ken’s truck got lean in the first run, so he got out of it. Blew off the slicks hard for the next 2 passes. The Dover Willys also spun hard in the first and 3rd passes. Managed to get “in the groove” for the second pass, but the darn throttle linkage at 1000feet…. Woulda been a good pass for us. Surely woulda bettered that 9.29@147. Maybe woulda got in the 8s and cracked 150???????? We’ll never know.
