Yes, I spoke with Dickie at the show and at the DOVER drags at Lebanon Valley
he will be accompanied by his long time buddy Al Oakes for the weekend. Al
is 90 years old now but is as sharp as ever. Dickie and Al were members of the
“Drag-N-Run” car club from the Bristol, CT area. They spent a lot of time at Dover
Drag Strip. Al was inducted into the New England Hot Rod Hall of Fame in Epping, NH
a couple years ago. He raced a slue of cars from Gassers to A/FX and Stockers. It’s
always great to see these two guys together ❗ Oh, Al Oakes aka the “GROWLER”. 😀
