I remember going to George Clarke’s shop in Milford to watch the different cars he was working on. His Kellison with a 409 raced at Dover in the early sixties. I think that he also worked on some early cars for Bill Flynn (Yankee Pedler). The last time I saw the Kellison, he had converted it into a roadster with a small block and was trying to get the weight of the car down to around 1400 lbs. This included milling a lot of the cast iron off of the Chevy block and building a light weight frame that was part of the suspension similar to today’s dragsters. I’m surprised that no one has brought up anything about his shop.
