Hey V……..Thank you……..What a beautiful car……………Don…..

One of my favorites out of Jack Merkels shop was Coney Island Ralph. Another car with Jack Merkel Racing Engines
was called the Hemi-Roid it was an altered wheelbase Mopar with injected hemi. The only place I saw this car was
at Capitol Dragway in md. This car had holes drilled everywhere that they could possibly drill in the frame and front
axle. Does anyone remember this car?
“Coney Island Ralph” Landolphi …Oh Yeah …Go to N.Y. National on one of those “Wild Summer Nights” and See him In his White Willys and later in the Anglia. Merkel Crew in Full force with “Fast Eddie “Sanzo- Red Willys Pick-up, Ralph and Jack.Heres Roy Kobel at Cecil County (mentioned in our Gasser Thread and runner at Dover). Jack’s early Black Willys ,frequented Dover .Lifted this from http://www.draglist.com . Have some fun -go to google -Click on images and type in Jack Merkel…You’ll be busy for a while .
Isn’t that a beauty!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks V……………….Don……..
I thought something was wrong with this info, that facts are; Yes, Jack is still doing this although his son Scott is running the shop. They are STILL at 1720 Express Dr. S Hauppauge NY 11788 Ph.# 631-234-2600 the name is now Jack Merkel Inc. Apparently the name “Jack Merkel Racing Engines” was hijacked and then incorparated in Clark NJ that place and Jacks place on LI have nothing to do with each other. Jacks other son works for Joe Gibbs Racing
Ah-So…The Original Name if ya look ,was Jack Merkel Automotive , with “Racing Engines ” stuck underneath…Pretty tricky of these N.J. guys.
Does anyone remember why Ralph was known as “Coney Island Ralph”? First correct answer wins a DATE with “Bossguy”
Jack Karl to a Chevy Show or a Mopar Nationals. 😆 😆
His shop was and maybe still is in Coney Island section of Brooklyn. It is called Landy’s Performance.

Go to: http://www.landysperformance.com ALL INFO there …Here’s a quickie:
“Landys Performance has moved to a new location in Colt’s Neck NJ. While the shop is a little smaller than we would like, it is in close proximity to the rest of the collection and close to Adam and Ralphs homes.”….. It seems Adam passed away in 2007 ….the Phone number at website is disconnected …I’ll dig a little deeper. Can’t find Number or even a Referance that Business “still” is Open ?
