Drag racing in Mexico. These are photos of the Juarez Timing association drags in 1969. They took place
on the highway running from Juarez to the south of Mexico. This was about ten miles south of El Paso, Texas.
They would block the highway run about six runs then let the traffic come through again. The usual turnout
was up to about fifty cars and two to three hundred spectators. Admission was seventy five cents american.
Amazing place you could run anything you wanted to and as a spectator you could get as close to the action as
you wanted. There were no bleachers to sit on you just stopped and parked where ever you wanted to park.
Best run I saw there was a Dodge Charger funny car Injected hemi on nitro. He made two passes I was out of
film so no photos.
