Dom Lagana is listed as the driver of the one of his family’s dragster’s on NHRA’s entry list for the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals at Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio, Nov. 23-26. Lagana, however, confirmed to CompetitionPlus.com Wednesday night Tripp Tatum will be driving the main Lagana dragster in place of him.
“Tripp drove our car at Gainesville (March 17-20), and this was a race planned for him,” Lagana said. “Maybe two or three weeks ago there were only 14 or 15 cars on the (entry list for Norwalk), and I just threw my name on the list to keep the Top Fuel class going for NHRA. We have two dragsters and our shop is actually just a few miles from the track in Norwalk.”
Then, according to a post by Leah Pritchett on her Facebook page Wednesday afternoon, she will be piloting a second Lagana family-owned dragster at Norwalk, which Lagana also confirmed. The last time the second Lagana dragster competed was in June of 2015 at a match race in Canada.

                    TOP FUEL E2
After watching Pat Dakin smoke the tires in front of them, J.R. Todd’s team exercised their right to change lanes by moving to the left. Todd is up against Leah Pritchett, who defeated him in Phoenix. Pritchett is also competing in her 75th career round.

Pritchett gets the jump off the line, but Todd passes her before the finish line. The win didn’t come cheap as there was fire coming from the side of Todd’s engine in the shutdown area. He will race his teammate, Doug Kalitta, in the semifinals, assuring that there will be a Kalitta car in the final.
